"Elowen Gwyn was a powerful young witch trapped by duty in her cinnamon-scented cottage. For years she served villages that depended on her for every spell and healing, until one desperate night her magic ripped open a portal to another world.

In the modern, magicless realm she finally found freedom. She became “Ellie,” dyed her red hair, worked in a bakery, rode bicycles, fell in love, and lived quietly for nearly two years—happy and unburdened for the first time in her life.

But the original world called her back. The portal dragged her home against her will, forcing her once again into the role of the village witch. At first she raged against her fate, but a sick child reminded her of the compassion she had learned in the other world.

She returned to her duties, yet forever changed. No longer a prisoner of expectation, Elowen became a wiser, freer witch—still baking her famous cinnamon bread, still flying her broom under the stars, but now carrying the quiet knowledge that she had once escaped… and might one day choose to do so again."
