"Once, Arys Grayhaven was nothing more than a shameful secret.
The bastard daughter of the Lord of Grayhaven and a humble windmill keeper's daughter, she spent her childhood buried beneath scorn. Her siblings mocked her, her stepmother despised her, and the noble world treated her existence as a stain upon their pride.
The cruelty reached its peak when Arys was framed for a crime she had never committed. With the help of a stable boy—the only friend she had ever known—she escaped the kingdom of Syracussia before the noose could find her neck.

Under her leadership, the company grew into an army, and her name became whispered across distant lands.
Years later, she returned to Syracussia.
But she did not return with the banners of noble houses.
She returned with the people.
Farmers, laborers, craftsmen, and all those abandoned by the realm rallied behind her cause. Promising equality, dignity, and a voice for the forgotten, Arys armed the common folk and marched upon the capital itself. The armies of King Otto stood against her, yet one by one they fell.
When the dust settled, the king's crown belonged to her.
